Airflow and Crew HQ: Put Your Place in Front of 9,000+ Yacht Crew
Crew need beds, and they need them near the boats
Yacht crew move between the same ports every season: Palma, Antibes, Monaco, Barcelona, Fort Lauderdale, Antigua. They often need a bed at short notice. They might be joining a boat next week, sitting in a yard period for six weeks, doing a course in town, between jobs, or catching a flight home in the morning.
Most of those beds are found by word of mouth, in Facebook groups, or by scrolling holiday sites that weren’t built for them. Hosts near the marinas lose out too, because the crew who want their rooms never find them.
Crew HQ (crewhq.me) is where more than 9,000 yacht crew, captains and recruiters keep their profiles, find work and find each other. It now has a crew accommodation section, and Airflow is its booking partner.
Where places show up
Crew HQ puts nearby places where crew are already looking:
- On yacht jobs near you. “Joining this boat? Places to stay nearby.”
- On the profiles of crew based near you.
- On the pages of yards, marinas, yachting companies and crew training schools near you.
- On the crew accommodation map at crewhq.me/crew-accommodation, with filters by country.
The ways to be listed, from the top down
Places are shown in four tiers. Within each tier, the nearest places come first.
1. Featured: a paid Airflow plan and a Crew HQ Business Listing
Combine both and your place is featured above everything else on Crew HQ, with a Featured badge. Crew can book it online, and they can also see your full business page, gallery and video. You also get Airflow’s lower commission on paid plans.
2. An Airflow listing that crew can book online
List your place on Airflow and it appears on Crew HQ automatically, above every directory listing, with your photos, live availability and prices. Crew pick their dates and book there and then, through Airflow Stay, Airflow’s marketplace.
- No monthly fee on Airflow’s Free plan. You add a card before publishing, and nothing is charged until you take a booking.
- Marketplace commission on bookings that come through Crew HQ and Airflow Stay: 15% on the Free plan, 12% on any paid plan.
- Your calendar stays in step with Airbnb and Booking.com through calendar links, checked every hour. Airflow never needs your logins.
- Guests pay by card straight into your own Stripe account. Airflow never holds the money.
You also get your own Airflow booking page. Bookings that guests make there directly carry a lower rate (5% on Free, 2–3% on paid plans), and bookings you take yourself and record as already paid carry none. The full table is on the pricing page.
Airflow can also build you a full booking website on your own domain, with the Website + Hosting add-on.
3. A Crew HQ Business Listing
A paid, full listing in the Crew HQ yachting directory, with your gallery, video and news. It’s shown above the free directory listings, but crew contact you rather than book online.
4. A free Crew HQ directory listing
Add your crew house or accommodation business to the directory. It’s free and stays free, with no commission. Crew see your page and your location on the map, and get in touch with you directly.
The first company listing on a Crew HQ account is free, and you can upgrade it to a Business Listing. Each further listing needs a paid place on your Business Listing membership, and each paid place makes one of your listings a Business Listing.

Why we built this with Crew HQ
Crew are the kind of guest hosts in yachting towns want: they come back season after season, they stay for weeks rather than nights, and they recommend places to each other. Crew HQ already has the crew. Airflow has the booking engine. Putting the two together lets a crew member about to join a boat in Palma see a room ten minutes from the marina and book it on the spot.
Crew HQ members can also invite a crew house or rental they know. Each host who goes live on Airflow through a member’s invitation earns that member a month of Crew HQ Premium.
